The winter gone by took a toll on few of my potted plants. One of them happened to be my ‘Ram Tulsi’ (the darker and more fragrant variety of the green Basil). While re-potting, as I uprooted the dried Basil, I could still draw in the lovely fragrance of the herb and not to mention the beautiful shape of the bush. I wanted to retain it, so I kept it aside to be used later for some dry arrangement.
Yesterday, while re-arranging a, previously done, dry flower arrangement I decided to use this herb bush. I thought of giving it a makeover before I used it in the arrangement but I didn’t want to waste my time, energy and resources over something that wouldn’t last me a while. Hence, before the makeover, I broke few of the twigs of the dried bush to test its sturdiness; the verdict – It was awfully sturdy… ready for a worthy makeover! And all I did was spray paint it with gold… five minutes flat! So much for time and energy wastage! The herb bush looked rather pretty all by itself; in fact it turned out to be a statement piece for my coffee table!
I shopped my home for a blingy vase/ accessory for displaying the made-over bush… here is how I have it now! Doesn’t it look lovely?
For now I am keeping it as it is. Every time I go past the wicker coffee table I admire this quick and simple DIY dried bush makeover for home decor!
What say? Any other way I could have done it?
