I’d been wanting to re use a couple of old picture frames for a while now but couldn’t find anything suitable/interesting to fit in it … until, the other day, when I found myself half buried in old stuff while sorting some old boxes… I found this very old coffee tin.
It took me a while to dislodge the lid to open (rusting had jammed it). What was in it? Coins…lots of vintage coins! Few of the coins date back to 1910! As a teenager my hubby had made this collection (a fad hobby!) he had forgotten all about it!
I also found an old pouch, full of discontinued armed forces epaulettes and insignia from his old uniforms. Both the discoveries made my day…because I got what I’d been looking for! It absolutely fit my requirement. I used one of the frames to display a part of the coin collection. Here is how:
It was one of the quickest and ‘no- nonsense’ diy chore that I’d ever undertaken.
As for the old epaulettes and insignia; they need a little fixing before I frame them up. Someday soon…
